You can't get where you want until you know where you are.

Results come from measuring ability and working toward improvement. Our coaches look at each individual athlete by analyzing their technique and testing the body's reaction to training. This information becomes our road map for helping you reach your goals.

Metabolic Testing

A crucial element in an athlete's overall fitness regimen, metabolic testing determines the quantity and type of fuel utilized by the body during a given state of exercise or rest. Our metabolic testing includes:

Graded Exercise Testing to Determine:

  • Maximal oxygen consumption (VO2max)
  • Anaerobic threshold 
  • Anaerobic threshold as a percent of maximal oxygen consumption 
  • Maximum Heart Rate 
  • Personalized Heart Rate training zones 

Resting metabolic rate (RMR)

  • Determines actual caloric requirements needed per day. Or in the words of our coaches, "science and stuff."

Lactate Testing

Provides a profile of aerobic and anaerobic conditioning levels. A blood sample test is used to accurately determine your heart rate training zones, recovery and more so you can optimize your training. And the better you train, the better you perform. The test is conducted on a treadmill or bike. Your call. And yes, it counts as the blood part of the blood, sweat and tears that our coaches will be asking of you.

Performance Analysis

Recommended for anyone, from beginner to pro, our coaches will help identify areas to target for improvement. We'll look at your form and technique, video tape it, and show you how to improve. Analysis will help athletes who want to take themselves to the next level by getting down to the science behind coaching - allowing you to train more efficiently and effectively. And talk a pretty big game. We offer the following analysis:

  • Run Gait Analysis
    Using video, we assess the way you walk or run to determine any abnormalities in biomechanics. Go ahead, gain a step on the competition.
  • Cycling Analysis
    Our analysis includes a six-minute testing protocol that determines power-to-weight ratio and an electronic pedal stroke analysis to indicate how efficient your cycling muscles are at delivering power equally throughout the pedal stroke. And considering how much time and money you spend on your bike, you owe it to yourself.
  • Swim Analysis
    Under-water analysis. Above-water analysis. We assess you from every angle – with video - to look at the technical aspects of your swim mechanics. Improving technique leads to better speed and endurance.
