AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill®

In partnership with Spine and Sport Institute, OptumHealth Performance is proud to offer the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill®. Pioneered by NASA, the AlterG is a tool utilized by the top running and triathlon coaches and athletes in the world for rehabilitation and conditioning.

Until now, there has not been an effective means for athletes to preserve high fitness levels while they are injured. The AlterG permits injured athletes to reach the aerobic intensity of their regular workouts while lowering the impact on their injured body during training so that they can transition seamlessly back to full weight-bearing during sports rehabilitation training programs. The athlete wears neoprene shorts and zips into a pressurized, airtight enclosure which calibrates to their exact body weight. With an easy to use control panel the athlete can change his/her weight, reducing it by as much as 80%.

The AlterG is also a highly effective athletic conditioning tool for both recreational and competitive athletes to improve speed and efficiency without the risks associated in traditional high impact speed training. Contact a coach today to find out how to incorporate AlterG speed work into your training to increase your performance while reducing your risk of injury.

Training time on the AlterG is only $1 per minute with a minimum of 15 minute sessions. To schedule your appointment, call us at 952-769-2060.

  • Kris, I really enjoyed working with you, and I appreciate all the information and advice you gave me. I was in the pool tonight doing the drills you listed. The workout was lot harder...and a lot more fun...than I thought it would be. You were right: it's gonna change my life. -Denae
  • Tim, I'm swimming faster than ever before. That last clinic really helped me. Today and I swam my fasted mile ever by over a minute. ...For me this is was really something. Thanks -Tom

Thanks for all the guidance over the winter - from my perspective it was perfect! -Brandon
  • OHP did a great job out there!! Clearly one of the (if not "THE") most professionally run events I've ever been a part of in my 10 years of triathlon. (including WTC)!! Coach Kris Swarthout, my helmet is off to you!! I want more OHP Tri's! -Pete
  • We had an awesome speed work session at the Lakes with OHP coaches Brendan and Beka. They had me running sub 6 min. 800 repeats which I didn't know I could do. These guys do a great job (and Coach Ben too). Hey, it's a lot easier to let someone else worry about the workout plan and the stopwatch and just show up and run :). -Eric
